ท่อเหล็กร้อยสายไฟ แบ่งออกเป็น 3  ประเภท ตามความหนาของผนังท่อ ดังนี้
1. EMT คือ ผนังท่อบาง ปลายทั้ง 2 ข้าง ไม่มีเกลียว ตัวอักษรสีเขียว
2. IMC คือ ผนังท่อหนาปานกลาง ปลายทั้ง 2 ข้าง ไม่มีเกลียง ตัวอักษรสีส้ม
3. RSC คือ ผนังท่อหนา ปลายทั้ง 2 ข้างมีเกลียว ตัวอักษรสีดำ

มาตรฐานผลิตภัณฑ์อุตสาหกรรม มอก.770 - 2533 อิงจากมาตรฐานอเมริกา
1. ANSI C 80.1 -1983 : Rigid steel conduit, zinc coated
2. ANSI C 80.3 - 1983 : Electrical metallic tubing, zinc coated
4. UL 1242 - 1983 : Intermediate metal conduit
Steel pipe can be divided into 3 types based on conduit thickness.
1. EMT is Electrical Metallic Tubing, green imprint. 
2. IMC is Intermediate Metal Conduit, orange imprint.
3. RSC is Rigid Steel Conduit, black imprint.

Thai standard bases on international standards, which are
1. ANSI C 80.1 -1983 : Rigid steel conduit, zinc coated
2. ANSI C 80.3 - 1983 : Electrical metallic tubing, zinc coated
